      ANNAWAN -- Arlo Clementz, 89, of Annawan died Friday, July 15, 1994, at his residence.

      Born July 2, 1905, in Hooppole to Charles and Mary Verbaker Clementz, he married Edna Croegaert on May 25, 1935, in Annawan. She died May 4, 1991. One sister and two brothers also preceded him in death.

      Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Sandra) Pottorf of Easton; two sons, Blair of Kewanee and Ardie of Annawan; one sister, Catherine Bickers of Kewanee; one brother, Cecil of Mineral; eight grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.

      He was a mechanic at the Homer Johnson auto dealership in Annawan for many years. He later worked at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for 24 years, retiring in 1967.

      He was a member of the Annawan Bolders Club.

      Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Home in Annawan. The Rev. Gerald Verhoye will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery or to the Annawan Rescue Unit.
