  [S8072387549] Fergus Falls Daily Journal, http://www.fergusfallsjournal.com. Fred Sieling, 74, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at St. Mary's Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. He was born June 21, 1926, at Perham, to Louis 0. and Minnie (Witting) Sieling. He grew up and attended school in the Perham area, graduating from Perham High School. On Sept. 19, 1947, he married Marilyn Swanstrom at Lake Park. Following their marriage they lived in Perham, later moving to rural Lake Park, where he farmed and was employed at the Audubon Elevator. He went into the real estate business, later operating his own real estate company, Continental Land Company, in Detroit Lakes. He also ran an income tax business, retiring in 1997. The couple moved to Big Cormorant Lake in 1979, and in 1998, moved to Detroit Lakes. Mr. Sieling had lived at St. Mary's Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes for the past two years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; and two children, Larry and Karen. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; six sons, Ronald (Mary) Sieling of Brainerd, Glen (Mary) Sieling of Fergus Falls, Bruce (Susie) Sieling of Audubon, John Sieling of Detroit Lakes, Dale (Karen) Sieling of Pace, Fla., Kevin (Debbie) Sieling of Glenco; two daughters, Diane (Robert) Skistad of Fergus Falls and Connie (Mike) O'Leary of Fargo; two brothers, Louis (Maxine) Sieling of Perham and William (Lorraine) Sieling of Fort Washington, Md.; one sister, Verna Kruger of Perham; 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
