In 1686, Arthur Cooke, of Frankford, Philadelphia county, received a patent for two thousand acres, which lay; in part, along the northwest line, what is now the Dublin road. At his death, 1699, his widow and executrix, Margaret Cooke and son John, conveyed one thousand acres to Clement and Thomas Dungan, settlers in the township, and descendants of Reverend Thomas Dungan, Cold Spring.
