KEWANEE - Blair Clementz, 71, of Kewanee, died at 12:40 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kewanee. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM, Thursday, April 26 at the Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with a prayer service being held at 7:45 PM. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veteran’s Council. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Senior Citizen Center or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was born December 5, 1935 in Annawan, the son of Arlo and Edna (Croegaert) Clementz. He married Joann Erdman on August 9, 1958 in Kewanee. She survives, as do four daughters, Kathy (Jim) Glennon and Tammy (Sam) Alba both of East Dubuque, IL, Cindy (Alan) DeCrane of Bloomington, IL and Angie (Jim) Valentine of Farley, IA, two sons, Mark (Anne) Clementz of Bloomington, IL and Sam Clementz of Brunswick, OH, one sister, Sandra Pottorf, Easton, IL, one brother, Ardie (Nancy) Clementz of Annawan, 19 grandchildren, a great grandchild, four sister-in-laws, Marie Sherbeyn, Dottie Erdman, Anna Gelaude and Mary Erdman and one bother-in-law, Don (Mary Helen) Erdman. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, William Keith Valentine.
He graduated from Annawan High School in 1954 and then worked as Parts Manager at the Kewanee and Annawan Ford Dealers, at Hyster Co. and as a semi-driver. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Okinawa. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus-Santa Marie Council. He enjoyed the Cubs, Bears and NASCAR. His hobbies included model trains and camping.
