The Will of Henry Pence Deceased
...First, I recommend my Spirit to God that give it, and my body to the grave, to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors and secondly, as touching my worldly possessions wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I Despose of the same in the following manner (To wit) First I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son in law John Norman[sic] all my land on which I now live containing one hundred and thirty five acres reserving to myself and my wife the free use and occupancy thereof or liberty of renting said land as long as we or either of us shall live and when we are both dead said Norman is to have full and peacable possession of said land and his heirs forever on the following conditions that is that he the said John Norman pays to my son Benjamin Pence five hundred dollars when required thereto by said Benjamin -- and six hundred and seventy five dollars to my other children within five years after the death of myself and wife as follows...an equal proportion to the other children: Henry Pence, Abraham Pence, John Pence, David Pence, Joseph Pence, Isaac Pence, Ruben Pence, Susannah Jinkens, Anna Norman...
