- [S8072384392] Pennsylvania German Pioneers, Strassburger, Ralph B. and William J. Hinke, (Norristown, 1934).
Very shortly after they were married, they immigrated from Germany to America. They came to America on the Ship St. Andrew and arrived at the Port of Philadelphia. Anna’s brother-in-law and sister, Jacob and Veronica Gramm Kiblinger, paved the way for them by coming two years earlier on the St. Andrew. (Mary Dossey via Darlene Kennedy) Philip and Anna Baker were accompanied on their voyage by Jacob Kiblinger’s brother Philip.
The earliest German-speaking immigrants to the American colonies came from a region in present-day Germany known as the Palatinate and were called Palatines.
